Spring 2024 with Jessica Rockowitz Photography

A family of four at a park in Lakeway Texas an hour before sunset.

Here are the important things to keep in mind for spring! Please read this thoroughly before booking!

*I am offering a mix of 60 min sessions, petite 30 min sessions, and a few bluebonnet mini session dates

Full hour sessions mostly take place on Sundays and can be redeemed anywhere in Austin/the surrounding area. There are two Sunday dates, though, that must take place in the West Austin area due to my childcare constraints those days. I might be biased, but I do think the best locations are around there. 😉

*I am offering petite 30 minute sessions on Tuesdays with a rain date on Thursday. These are done at a location of my choosing, and I will let you know the week of your date where we will be shooting. It will be in the West Austin area, in either Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Spicewood, or Westlake.

*I am offering two evenings of bluebonnet mini sessions in Spicewood. There are 8 spots total for these. They are 15 minutes and come with 15 digital images.

For all petite and mini sessions, you must be available for the scheduled rain date. No exceptions. Due to the nature of the sessions, I cannot grant make-ups for these sessions, but you will have a credit towards a session that can be used indefinitely.

Spring is busy, and sometimes it’s wet. What does that mean for your session?

It means that you must be flexible. I cannot control the weather; sometimes we have dry springs, and sometimes spring means lots of rain. We cannot reschedule for mildly inconvenient weather. If it’s overcast, chilly, or hot, we will still be shooting. If it’s raining, we will absolutely reschedule. If you have a Sunday shoot date, your rain date will be on a Saturday. There might be times I need to place you on a weekday, though, so please try to be as flexible as possible.

Please look accordingly at the slots to see what time Golden Hour is. It is different for each time of year. Please note that if it’s overcast that day, I might need to pivot us up to 1-2 hours early for our session. Again, this means that flexibility is so important.

Don’t stress about bedtime! Out of the hundreds and hundreds of sessions I’ve done, there has never been a session where we didn’t get amazing images of young kids, even during what is usually bedtime. Between bribes, moving around, playing, and them just being happy to be out, they will do great. I’ll give you tips for helping with this, and as long a you follow them, we will be good to go.

I unfortunately do not have the capacity to allow for reschedules for business trips, sports games, etc.

What happens if you don’t get a spot you want?

I can only hold spots for 12 hours, so I have created a waitlist for those to submit spot requests that they did not get. If a spot opens up due to failure to pay the retainer, I will move down this waitlist in the order I received.
